About Me

Hello everyone! I am Andrew Ronald Johnson. I’m 23 years old. I am a professional musician and a teacher. I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, but have lived in Houston, TX nearly all of my life.

I started my musical career as a clarinetist. This over time began to include the saxophone (my primary instrument now), flute, guitar, bass, piano, and vocals. After graduating from Cypress Creek High School I attended Baylor University to get my degree in Saxophone Performance. There I studied under Michael N. Jacobson, and played in many various ensembles and genres, ranging from classical, jazz, and rock. Here is where I honed my skills as a musician. I graduated in May of 2012 and moved back to Houston, TX, where I now work teaching saxophone lessons at Cy-Fair ISD, rebuilding the youth praise band ‘Echo 150′ at Windwood Presbyterian Church, playing keyboards and saxophone for indie rock band Vivid Orange, and recording woodwinds for the music on shows produced by local television studio KEYS for their original programming.

You can hear my classical saxophone playing at my senior recital and on my Youtube channel.

I am available for teaching music lessons (any of these: saxophone, clarinet, flute, guitar, bass, music theory, and jazz theory) or to perform for any gig or function.
